Roger and Kaye,

Roger and Kaye,
Congratulations on 40 years of ministry!
We left Parkcrest almost 12 years ago due to moving out of the area, but we always think of you as our "church family". We enjoyed also raising 4 daughters right alongside the two of you. You have always been wonderful role models and examples for the rest of us. You truly show us all how to love one another. Thank you for all the laughter, compassion, service, and friendship.
Now it's time for the two of you to enjoy your well-deserved retirement.

Roger and Kaye,

Debbie and I are thankful for you and your family's lifetime commitment to Christian ministry and education both at Parkcrest and PCC/Hope International.
We will always remember your commitment to the Lord's service in our wedding as you prayed for and gave us communion. You and Jim Shields Jr. made the ceremony lighthearted...fun.
Many couples and friends from Parkcrest were blessed by your leadership. We hold on to these memories and rejoice in victory.

Thank you Kaye for your support!
We love you Roger!

Roger and Kaye,

It's been several years since I left Southern California and the Parkcrest family, but when I heard you were retiring I felt compelled to write a note!!

I was a young Air Force officer who felt very far from my family - but I found dear friends and learned so much while I was stationed in LA! I am truly grateful to have been blessed by the opportunity of knowing you both!

Thank you and god bless you in all that is to come!!

Dear Roger & Kaye -
We have been greatly blessed by your ministry and your friendship.
Your use of the Old and New Testament in your messages has really brought new understanding and inspiration into our daily walk with the Lord.
We wish the two of you a wonderful
"retirement" doing those things you haven't had time to do up until now.
I know you will continue to be Christ's Disciples forever in all that you do. God bless you.

Roger and Kaye,

We were in the process of looking for a church. I needed my car washed and I pulled into a lot. I went to pay and they told me that this was an act of service for Parkcrest. The next Sunday we took our whole family to Church. It was an awesome experience to have 2 High schoolers, 1 Jr. Higher and 2 parents all excited about a Service. Thank you for the spiritual leadership you have given and the feeling that this Church felt like home. Best wishes.

It’s impossible to convey how much you’ve meant to us over the years. Your teaching has always been practical, challenging and inspirational. The atmosphere that you both fostered at Parkcrest was warm, friendly and comfortable; I knew on my first visit, fourteen years ago, that my search for a home church was over.
The Parkcrest Basics Classes have special significance for Debbie and me: we met in class 201!
We hope that the next season of your lives will be filled with adventure, contentment and happiness!

Roger and Kaye,

My (Ray's) earliest memory of you, Roger, was when I was 18 and attending Pacific Christian College. As my teacher, with great compassion, you allowed me to work through the questions I had about Christianity. Throughout our years at Parkcrest you both were always a wonderful support to us & our extended family. Even after 20 years of being away, we look back with fond memories of our church family at Parkcrest. May God's peace & joy fill your hearts throughout this new chapter of your lives!

In Christ,

You two have touched many lives in such a personal way! We are grateful to have known you and your family. You and Parkcrest are an important part of why we remember our years in California so fondly. Specifically, we thank you for making a special effort to introduce us to people you thought we should meet. You helped us make some lifelong friends. And thank you for being a "family away from home" to us.
Love, blessings and wishes for a continued bright future! Come visit!

Easter service in the Parkcrest parking lot...it was so awesome for us to take everything in, and hear you speak. And then we met Kaye...full of spunk and attitude! What a great team you both make. Thank you so much for all the guidance and words of wisdom you have shared with us through your messages. We wish you the best in starting another chapter in your lives.

From golf carts being driving down the center aisle during church to lose donkeys running around, you have inspired us to share our love for the Lord in "unique" ways.
Thank you !! You both are walking
witnesses to us, that love does win !!
We love you so very much.
May God bless you with more adventures like "Life on the Vine,

I just realized that I hadn't put anything on here yet...

I want to thank you for believing in me. For trusting me beyond my abilities, and for giving me opportunities to grow.

You have modeled a sacrificial life that is surrendered to Christ, and shown me how to lead through humility.

The impact that you've left on Parkcrest, on this community, and on the countless individuals who you've ministered to has sent ripples beyond measure and description.

Thank you for your faithfulness and dedication to carrying out the mission of Jesus

I still have the craft Kaye made at START and gave it to me because I couldn't go to the class. I was so touched. Thank you for your prayers during the difficult times we've experienced over the years. We will continue to pray for God's blessing and direction in your lives. We have been at Parkcrest since 1976. We appreciate all Kaye's workwith the children in Sunday School, Pre School and activities and camps. We also have been so blessed by Roger's preaching and classes. He is so well read and thoughtful in his presentation of the scriptures. We will miss you as leader at Parkcrest. You have gotten us through good times and some that were not so good as a church. We appreciate everything you both have done. We wish you a wonderful retirement.

I never looked foreward to going to church until a friend brought me to Parkcrest. Now I can hardly wait until Sunday! You touched my life in a way you will never know. I accepted Christ as my personal savior, and the biggest and most meaningful event in my life was the day you baptized me at the beach. God blessed me through you and how thankful I am.

Even though I haven't been to Parkcrest in over 20 years, It's a place where my Christianity truly started. I was baptised there in 1971 and had a lot great times since then.

Most of all I appreciate your teachings from the word of God. Along with the guidance of my parents, I learned a lot to what it is to be a Christian.

By best wishes to the entire Beard family. Not only has God blessed you, but blessed us with your passion for the word, and for the friendships.

Thank you. I miss you all !

Roger and Kaye,

Congratulations on your almost 40 years at Parkcrest! Our memories go back to '72 when we became members. Thanks for the 16 years on the staff with you; the elders' retreats; struggles to make changes in the worship services; raising money to pay off the debt on the sanctuary; marriage of our son, Brian to Terrie; helping to plan your surprise trip to Hawaii, and a lot more. Residing in Kentucky now, we have "fond memories" of those years at Parkcrest and the part you played in our lives. Thanks! God bless!

Roger, your humor and humble heart really attracted us. The sound Biblical teaching (in outline form no less) kept us coming back. Thank you for 12 years of Christian leadership for my family. Our boys learned so much from the children's ministries, the teachings and loving environment were especially important during their teen years. I thank God for bringing us to Parkcrest.
I hope you are blessed with a long, healthy and FUN retirement together.

I just want you to know that Parkcrest Christian Church has changed my life so dramatically and positively. My son James Stephen Flett who is now incarcerated in Lancaster Prison remembers every thing that Parkcrest is and has been for me. He is writing in his letters that he will be attending Parkcrest when he gets out, the Celebrate Recovery Part and and Chuch part. My prayers have been answered. God Bless You and I will surely see you in Hallelujah Square in Heaven some day...

My goodness~ what a treasure the two of you are! From the very first Sunday some 15 or more years ago that I sat in the pews, scared to death that everyone would turn around, point and look at me- the sinner- and instead Roger you were sharing a message of God's unconditional love for us... well I knew that I had finally come home. I thank God for you both and for the love, leadership and friendship you've added to my life and the lives of soooooo many. Thank you! Rock on. :)

Roger and Kaye,

Roger,
I came to Parkcrest the summer of '99. I bumped into a beach ministry doing some theater a couple of weekends at Seal Beach. "This is unusual," I thought. "I've got to see what force is behind a cutting edge ministry like this." When I came to Parkcrest, I couldn't figure out who was in charge. Everyone looked the same because of the shirts. The music was jammin'. But, the message from the pulpit sincerely reflected Jesus' teachings. It felt real. I loved the encouragement to start ministries. I've never seen someone who better represented Jesus' ministry. Thanks

When we moved to Long Beach in 2000 we started church shopping. We were looking for a true church FAMILY, where we could find that village it takes to raise our future children. It took five years to get the child, but we praise God daily for leading us to Parkcrest. The support and direction you have offered us in the last eight years has been life- changing. Thank you and God Bless You Both.

It was easy to relate to the stories about your family and many of the references you make are from books that we have read. I guess that means we are old too! I will never forget my first day at Parkcrest “Friendly” Church. There was a mist of confusion in my life and after hearing that first message and witnessing such peace in around the campus, I knew I found something wonderful. (DONUTS!)
